MUSLIMS IN NIZAMABAD ROOT FOR TELANGANA STATE

While the protests, rallies, dharnas and rasta rokos over the delay in Carving out separate Telangana continued on Friday, the Muslim minorities of Telangana region are livid at the Majlis-e-Ittehadul-Muslimeen (MIM) party for its prolonged silence on the T-issue. The Muslims were more upset after the MIM stand against Telangana during the allparty meeting in Delhi on Jan 5. Political observers said being the only political outfit of Muslim minorities in the state, the MIM has failed to catch the pulse of the community at a time when a majority of them are actively taking part in the ongoing T-movement in the districts.

The Muslims are angry with the Majlis party, which claims itself as the sole representative of the entire community. They firmly believe the MIM is creating hurdles in formation of a separate state by trotting out redundant arguments, an observer said. Almost all minority organizations like Jamaat-Islami-Hind , Jamaat Ulema-e-Hind , Movement for Peace and Justice, Students Islamic Organization and others have already extended their unequivocal support for separate Telangana.

Muslim leaders and activists, irrespective of political ideologies, have been sitting on relay hunger strikes and staging dharnas in support of Telangana at Nehru Park in Nizamabad town in the last 15 days. Minority community leader Mohammed Raheem told TOI that MIM suffers from political sagacity and short-sightedness . In fact, the chances of MIM spreading its base to all Tdistricts would brighten once T-state is formed, he felt.

He reasoned Muslim population is sizable in Nizamabad, Bodhan, Kamareddy areas in Nizamabad district, Bhainsa, Adilabad and Nirmal in Adilabad and Karimnagar, Jagityal , Korutla, Metpalli and Peddapalli in Karimnagar districts. There is also a considerable number of minority population in Nalgonda and Warangal districts. The MIM would stand to gain if it supports the Tcause , Raheem argued. Nizamabad district Muslim Personal Law Board secretary Md Gafoor opined that Muslims would benefit to a large extent in a separate Telangana state than being part of a united Andhra.

  1. Keep RSS/BJP/ABVP, VHP, Bajrang Dal away from the Telangana agitation, then every Muslim will participate in and support Telangana. Else you will never get Telangana without Muslims Insha Allah. Now do you know what will happen in that Nizambad village which will be unknown to media? Now muslim youths from old city like Malakpet Barkas, Chandryangutta, First Lancer etc will go to that Pothangal village in Nizambad and they will beat them badly those involved in Telangana agitators who burnt houses of Muslims and beating them very badly. But this news will never come to media. Because this same thing happened at Bhainsa in Adilabad. AIMIM is a very dangerous party. If you are good with them then they also good with you.
